Classrooms of the future

Schools have changed. Chalk is out and interactive whiteboards connected to the Internet are in. Today's students are 'digital natives', born with electronic devices attached to their umbilical cords.

To celebrate the explosion in educational technologies, designed to train these young digital minds, Science magazine has a special feature out this month on the topic.

My contribution is a profile of some amazing research being carried out at Durham University into multi-touch desks, which are a bit like giant iPod Touch screens. The photo above is an artist's impression of how these might work in a classroom.
